Spoilt for choice with two free accomodation offers tonight I opted to go with Charlize, the sales girl from the Vodacom shop, because she said one of her housemates was having a party. She sure wasn't wrong and boy do the Afrikaans know how to eat and drink, but hanging out with a motley crew who refer to themselves as the 'Addams Family' and include a transvestite I can't help feeling a bit like Louis Theroux trying to make sense of some disturbing views and attitudes: I've already lost count of the number of times that I've been told it's too dangerous to cycle through SA because the 'blacks' will rob me of everything!

It all provides a stark contrast to the wonderful reception I've recieved this Football Friday - a wonderful weekly showing of support by South Africans for Bafana Bafana and the World Cup by wearing bright yellow soccer tops.
