> Too fruity
Day 170 - Fri 19 Mar - 14,898km, Quingombe, Angola
Sandy and corrugated dirt roads plied by HGVs, vicious head winds, sun burn and swarms of tsetse flies made for a throughly unpleasant days riding. It wasn't all bad though, my little pink horn has rediscovered its popularity and the village chief's wife where I'm staying has just served me up some funje (gelatinous grey balls of cassava flour - it's a grower!) and calulu (dried salted fish cooked in a chilli and tomato sauce). In return I've split a precious malt loaf with the family which unbelievably has only received a very tepid response. With funje the national staple Angolans clearly aren't ready for such an exotic and fruity taste sensation!
