> The Obama biscuit
Day 93, 9216 km, Ejura, Ghana
I keep forgetting to mention just how popular Obama is in West Africa, indeed his t-shirts are almost as common as Chelsea shirts and we have even discovered Obama biscuits! Fittingly they are small tasty and wholemeal making a refreshing change from the artificial flavourless white biscuits I have come to accept as the only option. Considering politicians as biscuits provided great food for thought on a very long day. Thanks to Helen’s determination and realising that at our current rate there may be no bikini down time before her flight home, she hit the road at 6 this morning like a woman possessed and put in an incredible 138 km ride through the heat of the day only allowing for the occasional Obama break! If you have any inspiration for politicians as biscuits, feel free to add them to the comments jar, otherwise you’ll have to wait for tomorrow’s political biscuit installment.

Maybe you are in Kumasi by now, so bikini time could be possible! They are expecting you both in Abonse if you are on schedule. Well done and lots of luck, KR.
brownies - I hope not
Our PM is the oposite of a brownie - nothing squishy or delicious about his insides - more like a rock cake.

A few thoughts on politician biscuits....."Mandelson Hobnobs", the new Tory favourites "Cameroons", the Italian "Berlusconi fancies" and French "Sarkozi shortbreads" .....and unbelievable "Blair Blarneys".
