> Worst food in Africa
Day 150 - Sat 27 Feb - 13,970km, Boembe, Congo
Congo is putting forward an impressive case for the title of worst food in Africa to date, thanks to locals only eating incredibly bland manioc (steamed cassava in vine leaves), fish, the usual deep fried dough balls and in some lucky areas bananas and bread. Travelling deeper into the south today, as always, I was on the look out for some new palate excitement and I did make one essential break through – delicious cling wraps of homemade peanut butter sold by the street mammas. On a day of frightfully wet and windy conditions across the open rolling landscapes of the deforested plateau, an area surprisingly similar to British national parks, filling up on peanut sarnis seemed jolly fitting! We weren’t always shown British politeness along the way however, at one stage having to speed up to pass through a homemade road block manned by machete wielding teens after an easy buck. I’m not sure if the Congolese will be able to take the taste overload of malt loaf, but tomorrow I plan to find out.

Just to say keep dragging, pedaling/avoiding machete weilding teenagers. We are still following and glad you have a friend to accompany you on this bit. Also nice comments from Leo about life on the road, Leo I hope you had a great time, it sounds like you did.
Me and Tom went to a climbing wall today and are gonna start being a bit more active, still continues to be a long cold winter here, good one to miss bro!

C´mon Rob. You got used to
C´mon Rob. You got used to my liophilized food and the Hilton Buffet ! Became a little spoiled !Remember my recipe .... Always carry a 2 liter bottle of Coke. It does quench your thirst and fills you up with sugar, both at the same time ! And still get some free caffeine to pump your riding !
Cheers Bro !
